- Ibracadabra and Messi will play against Manchester City tonight in the Joan Gamper trophy… and tonight marks Ibra’s debut after recovering from a hand fracture. The Dona doesn’t need to worry either, because his beloved Messi has shaken off his muscle injury and will be available for selection.
- In case you haven’t heard, UEFA have finalized their list of nominees for the UEFA Club Football Awards. The winners will be announced next Thursday. No Brazilian players have been shortlisted (not even Dani Alves!!) but they were spot on with Iniesta, Xavi, Messi, Vidic, Piqué and Eto’o. Can’t say that Greaseano had a good tournament though.
- Argentinean authorities are cracking down on “possible fraud” in ticket sales for the nation’s jogo grande against Brazil next month. The tickets have been put online and prices are in the range of US $250. “They are offering something that they don’t have yet – and will not get. Fans will be deceived, as it is not possible to sell a product on the Internet exclusively in Rosario,” said an AFA rep.
- Apparently, Fabregas has been sending text messages to Barca authorities telling them to “continue trying” to bring him home. He’s insisting that Arsène Wenger will ‘eventually’ listen to offers.
