Here we go again! Mano Menezes has finally unveiled his 28-man Sassy Seleção for friendly matches against Netherlands and Romania on the 4th and 7th of June (Thank God they left good ol’ Felipe Melo out this time!) You know what this means, don’t you? There’ll be Selecao Bootcamp updates from us during that period. Que legaaaal!
The usual suspects have been included in the list (except for Kaka – but he hasn’t had many minutes with Real either, so a call-up won’t be justified). Thiago Neves and Farmer Fred will their return to the squad after a long time and so will Leandro Damiao who made a good impression when he was last summoned. Also, after one too many barbecue parties in Manchester, you’ll finally see Anderson in that yellow Brazilian shirt!
Also, this 28-name list is only a provisional squad which means the six who don’t immediately make an impact or choose to go out partying in Sao Paulo will be sent home by Menezes when he announces his Copa America squad on June 7th! That date also marks the ‘Official Farewell’ for Ronaldo Lima, where they’ll have fiestas in Brazil to celebrate his career. Exciting!
