Tres Cosas Game With Doris, Our Barca Futbolita!

Meet Doris - our Barcelona Futbolita from Poland! The 24-year-old has been a Cule for over six years and is also a contributor at Totalbarca.com. On the day of her club’s Champions League finale showdown against Man United, Doris answers our traditional “Tres Cosas” (Three Things) game. (See this post for our Tres Cosas game with the Man United futbolita!)

Three things that make Barca better than Man United :

  • The Style we believe- From 1st to 90th minute every single player runs and passes the ball, there is no time to take a break, players attack and defend with the ball. Possession and passes are the keys. Football is sport but our players remember that they play for us, for the audience, and they always try to make the game special and beautiful.
  • Complete project- our team is in 3rd year of Guardiola reign, we’ve got some great new arrivals this season like Villa, Adriano, Mascherano or Afellay. But in general meaning our team is complete project, it works like orchestra, all “pieces” in harmony.
  • Total football- The idea, implemented in Barcelona by Johan Cruyff and developed by Guardiola, that any player can take over the role of any other player in a team is one of the basic elements of the FCB’s philosophy of football. Just take a look how our defenders score and forwards defend!

Three Barca players who stand out for me:

  • Iniesta- he is my favourite player, this season is his best in Barcelona so far, his passes are pure magic, and watching his dribblings near the line makes me want to watch replay over and over again.
  • Busquets- solid player in our midfield/defence, I don’t know which position he will play tonight, but when “Busi” plays I’m more calm, he is very intelligent player, makes great passes and how he defend! His talent shines in FCB and Spanish national team too.
  • Valdes- our life insurance, the last defender, the guardian of our goal, the best goalie of La Liga in the last seasons (3 Zamora trophies!). Victor is the first player who starts offensive actions, often plays outside the penalty box. His long kicks are incredibly precise. Valdes is brilliant, the best one-on-one keeper in the game.

Three words you would use to describe Man United :

  • Competitive- It’s top team in England, just won league title, the 19th in history, it’s a club with great history and talented players. They play great football, like to poses the ball, they attack and defend with the ball. Just like Barcelona.
  • Motivated – Such team, especially in the final is always a strong rival, we played against them in 2009 and remeber that it wasn’t easy game.
  • Dangerous- Some of the finest forwards, as well as talented defenders and solid keeper, van der Sar, Evra, Hargreaves,  Ferdinand, Owen, Anderson, Berbatov, Rooney, Giggs, Park, Hernández, Vidi?, Carrick, Nani… facing such squad is a great challenge

Three things that could go wrong in the game:

  • Injury- Barcelona had difficult season, so the injuries are one of the serious worries among Culés, add this to short squad we have this season and it’s even worse, the last game of the season is the most important one, we need all of our boys.
  • Lacks in defence- Our defence is back with the great comeback of Abidal and Puyol. But still any mistake can be dangerous especially in case of quick counter-attacks.
  • Not finishing the play- although our team has great share of ball possession and makes incredible numbers of passes it’s not always effective, in last weeks blaugrana boys crated a lot of chances in front of goal, but they had problem with finishing, Villa was offside or Pedro was 0.01 sec too late. But I hope that great atmosphere at Wembley stadium will encourage them to score more goals.

Three things that I believe will happen during the game:

  • Victor Valdes will do his rituals like checking the net of the goal before game, jumping, hitting crossbar, making sing of the cross after each goal.
  • Guardiola will make funny faces and gesture all the time. I think that he wants to join the team and play with them sometimes.
  • Villa will be offside at least 3 times. He runs very fast and as player who participate in most of counter-attacks he is often caught offside

Three things that I would like to do to United’s players

  • Hug Chicharito (he is cute!)
  • I would like to talk a bit with Owen, he is incerdible, Do you remember his goal in England’s second-round tie with Argentina during 1998 World Cup in France? True hero!
  • Ask Giggs about his secret method to be fit for so long! He is a living legend! 20 years in United, that’s impressive :)

Three things I will be doing during the match:

  • Wearing my Barca jersey- I bought it at Camp Nou and I always wear it when watching games. It’s a must!
  • Wearing my FCB Crest glitter earings- I made those earings for last El Clasico in November, I love playing with glitter and all that crafty stuff, I wear them on match days.
  • For sure I will be shouting a lot- I’m noisy supporter, ask my brothers ;) I sing chants, clap hands, shout a lot “corre, corre tio!”and I often “communicate” with blaugrana boys “come on Andresito!”.

My prediction for the Final: United 0- Barça 2

I think 2-0 for Barcelona, just like it was in Rome ;) Our team is really motivated to get the trophy on Saturday. I’m sure we will enjoy great football, such games are always very intense both on and off the pitch and IT’S THE FINAL OF CL.  I can’t wait to watch the game! Visca Barca!
