Brazil’s ‘Mulher of the moment‘ is undoubtedly Rosana, who scored the winning goal against Australia in Brazil’s opening game of the Women’s World Cup last week. The midfielder – who plays for Centro Olimpico in Sao Paulo – told Futbolita about her thoughts living the dream at the Women’s World Cup. We’ll continue to hear more from her throughout Brazil’s Women’s World Cup campaign (Obrigada, Roberto!)

About the tournament so far…

“What I enjoy most about the Women’s World Cup is the fact that it is being held in Germany. The stadiums are modern and cosy, and women’s football, in general, receives a massive amount of support in the country!”

About that goal against Australia

“I feel wonderful and happy about scoring that goal (in the opening match against Australia), because it was a very tough match.”

About Women in football…

“My message to (aspiring) women is that football requires lots of sacrifice as, besides being a very demanding sport, women’s usually suffer from lack of support and resources. However the results may be extremely rewarding, as you can make many people you don’t know happy.”

About her fellow teammates in the Selecao feminina

I get along well with all the girls. Both Marta and Cristiane are great individuals as well as footballers. Marta may be the greatest ever by the end of her career.”
