Tonight, the Women World Cup 2011 held in Germany will host the Women’s World Cup finals, with Japan and the USA as worthy opponents. Japan, who surprisingly eliminated the German team in the quarter finals and created a grave crisis for our national team, was the big surprise for the German audience. Their style of short passes was comparable to the Spanish way of playing and as such, they made their way to Frankfurt tonight.
Even though we expected more from our National Team, the interest in the World Cup didn’t decrease after their elimination. Public viewing, flags and support just like last year expands within Germany. Nevertheless it is to say that the Women World Cup has not caught as much interest as the Men World Cup, but still it has been a great success.
All in all it has been a great time watching football, may the best team win this night!
