Gotta love that look on Greaseano’s face right there – “Got the memo guys, Messi wins by default!” (while the Argentinean peered on). Whatever the case, he only secured 3 votes from UEFA’S Media panel for the inaugural UEFA Best Player Award while Messi secured the majority (39). Of course, goals are often a key decider when rewarding footballers but perhaps they should have given both Xavi and Ronaldo awards of their own too. Isn’t it a little sad to make them come all the way up? Granted, Barcelona were supposed to be in Monaco anyway for the SuperCup. And at least Xavi has a Futbolita in Spain postcard!
As for the Champions League draw, Group A and Group H look like the ones we should be paying close attention to! (Click here for the full draw results last night)

Barca will face off against Porto in the Supercup tonight, which should be interesting since we’ll finally get to see what they bring to the table with €43 million. The Portuguese side is a fiercely attacking team (like Barca) with a trio upfront – Hulk on the right, Silvestre Varela on the left and Kleber in the center. Of course, Barca being Barca will bring on their goods and play till the end. Let’s see how this goes, eh?
