He was such a great prospect for Italian football, but alas, Davide Santon has left Inter Milan for Newcastle! The 20-year-old Italian defender signed a five year deal (the fee has not been disclosed) with the English club yesterday. Players of Davide’s age need to be given as much as playing time as possible, so it makes sense for him to pick first-team football in England.
Also, this serves as a lesson for Spanish and Italian clubs : If you’re planning to keep an extremely talented player under your wing – keep playing him and always reiterate your faith in the player or he’ll look elsewhere! Santon has shown so much promise for someone his age, and it is certainly a blow to many Interistis to see him go. Ma… questo è calcio!
Contraception, Neymar… Haven’t you heard of contraception?!! Jokes aside, here’s a photo that has been making its rounds among the Brazilian pink pages – that of Neymar and his son, Davi Lucca. Sure, Neymar himself is only 19 but at least he’s taking responsibility for it! Anyway, here’s a video of Neymar taking his new-born son to Santos’ training ground to meet their players and staff, including Ganso, Elano and Leo.
