So the Seleção scraped past Ghana in a 1-0 victory last night, which is fair enough, especially since winning hasn’t been their forte as of late! Within ten minutes of the first half, Ganso who suffered a thigh injury had to be replaced by Elias. Ghana even had a player sent off – Daniel Opare – for amassing two yellow cards. Alas, Leandro Damião eventually scored the winner after running onto Fernandinho’s pass minutes before halftime!
Meanwhile, Spain will take on Liechtenstein in their next Euro 2012 qualifying match tonight. And it’s anyone’s guess what Xavi, David Villa, Pedro and gang are up to at the back of that photo! (hablando de Casillas eh?) Although Del Bosque has declared that there’s no ‘friction’ between Madrid and Barcelona players in the team – and players “know the difference between playing for the league and La Seleccion” – photos like these suggest otherwise!
At least Valdes has taken the initiative to walk away and lead the pack with Llorente. Seriously, how bad can it be with Llorente around? “Tiiipo, vamos a hablar de tu cabello!” is all you need to say to the man.
