La Liga Lunes & Juve’s Newfound Luck!

Photobucket

It’s Monday… which means it’s time for La Liga Lunes! The sad news, of course, comes from the Barca camp where they have announced their new Chilean signing, Alexis Sanchez, will be sidelined for two months. He suffered a torn hamstring in his right leg – which is the most common injury among runners. As graduates of sports medicine schools know, it also happens when you try to “do too much too soon.” It also happens when you try to “do too much too soon”. Well, it’s time for recovery work and Alexis shouldn’t be too worried because Barcelona provides some great opportunities to do that!

How could we have missed out this gem of a photo featuring Espanyol’s Jordi Amat and Hector Moreno? It would’ve been more appropriate to post a photo of their 2-1 victory over Athletic Bilbao last night (the ever-reliant Llorente scored in this one too) but decided to put up this one instead. The players are holding on to sombreros because Espanyol’s new sponsor is the tourism board of Cancun, Mexico! What are you waiting for, Periquitos? It’s time to hit Mexico!

Lastly, here are Juventus players celebrating their 4-1 rout of Parma at their new stadium last night. It looks like they’re playing in an afternoon Premiership game as opposed to the gloom and doom of playing evening matches in the San Siro. Perhaps the other Italian teams should follow suit – apparently Inter Milan are due to move into their own stadium in 2014 (finally, no more sharing!) Here are the highlights from their win, with a little bit of background music from The Killers!
