It’s time for some Champions League stats by the handy Milan training ground tree (seen above) amicis! The last time these two sides met was five years ago – in 2006 – when Barca advanced to the final thanks to Giuly’s goal. Interestingly, Milan hold the better track record from their previous six UEFA meetings. The Rossoneri have not won in their last two visits to the Camp Nou and definitely need to buck up tonight because they have gone three games without scoring a European goal. Milan also only won one of their four away fixtures in last season’s UEFA Champions League.
Over the weekend, Víctor Valdés made his 411th appearance for Barcelona to surpass club legend Andoni Zubizarreta’s record. Tonight, Milan will be without IbrahimoDouche so that means they’ll be fielding Pato and Boateng in attack. Said Milan coach, Massimo Allegri :
“With the talent we have, I’m sure we will create problems for Barcelona. To play defensively against them could be a problem. We have to play a very serious match. Apart from the tactical and technical side of things, we have to play a courageous match.”
