Seleção Bootcamp : Baptisms, Birthdays & Bromance!

It’s only Day 2 of the Selecao Bootcamp and so much has gone down! Man United’s Fabio – who declared once that he’d prefer to play for Portugal (“Oh no he DIINT!“) – went through the traditional ‘Baptism Brasileira’ process which involves standing on a chair and telling the whole room why you’re proud to play for Brazil. The process can be a highly embarrassing one, especially if Robinho is in the room – the dude actually waits for you to fumble while he rolls into fits of laughter on the floor!

“My brother (Rafael) is injured, I did not take his place,” Fabio joked to the whole room. “I am very happy at United, but I have a great desire to play for my country.” Elsewhere at the team’s dinner, Fred celebrated his birthday at the team’s table, with a chocolate cake, naturalmente!

Meanwhile, David Luiz’s arrival from London was almost like watching the Evolution of Sideshow Bob as it descended into San Jose. The hair- sunglasses combo, dudeeee... way too much! And there was also a little bit of kerfuffle going on inside Dani Alves’ room as Hulk, Hernanes and Fred argued over something they watched on their iPads (huh?). Neymar and Oscar are also room mates on this trip, so you can imagine where all the hard-thumping electro house music will be coming from tonight… Fist pump, irmaaaaos!
