1) This player can be said to be at his peak right now – extremely ‘hot’, well-loved by the press, media and doted on by fans and the manager. But less than six months ago, our player was close to moving to a more ‘bigger/famous club’ in a different city within the country. So what happened ? Well, his Mama didn’t think he would be able to resist temptation and when she found out he was close to signing the contract, she immediately called our player’s agent and blocked the move! You see, Mama was convinced our player would cheat on his wife for a mind-blowing fifth time if the family relocated to the ‘higher profile’ club. She wanted him to move to a “city with plain-looking girls” because he would be less likely to stray and she was embarrassed about his past exploits.
Adds our source : “His mother HATED the idea of him moving (there) and knew it would be hard for him to keep his pants on because he has cheated on his wife many times without her knowledge. This city’s nightlife is not one for married footballers.” And yes, it’s the Premiership!
2) Which coach left his post because a few players in the dressing room felt he was getting “too close for comfort?”. His career can be said to be illustrious, winning many titles with different clubs and although the official reason for his departure was said to be the club’s decision, the problem had started way before that. “Two or three of the players didn’t like the way he looked at them when they were changing, or didn’t have their shirts on. They complained that (the coach) stared at them while they were getting ready, made them uncomfortable and once asked a player what perfume they had on. They weren’t bothered at first, but one of the younger players complained to the board, and they opened an investigation,” said our source, who added that they did not find ‘substantial evidence to take action’.
Later, it was announced that the manager’s ‘stepping down’ was by mutual consent. And let’s just say he was a prominent name in the Premiership and is above 50 years.
