Bate VS Milan | Valencia vs Leverkusen
Arsenal vs Marseille | Plzen vs Barca

Admittedly, there was a time Michael Ballack was a name highly relevant to football. Now, he has been banished to the ‘Has Beens’ gallery, led by Rivaldo in a cape and feather duster. You know Jason from Friday the 13th is weeping profusely because the mask worn by Ballack here has outsold the original at the Valencia-Leverkusen pre-match merchandise table! Kkk, enough of the jokes.
Said Valencia’s coach Unai Emery : “We respect all of Leverkusen’s players, whether they have Ballack available or not. The important thing is our team. We know what to do to stop them; we have to play with personality
.
Los Che cannot afford to lose this game tonight or they’ll be staring elimination in the face!

And on the subject of elimination, no one dared to mention it at Pep Guardiola’s press conference ahead of Barca’s relatively easy clash against Plzen tonight. Simply because THAT face would’ve been his instantaneous reaction. A mixture of “gross, unimaginable and as ugly as Michael Ballack’s mask.”
Sure, there would’ve been no way he would’ve known about the mask, but he might as well have mentioned it since all Gerard Pique bothered to do throughout the conference was to stroke his chin thoughtfully (see photos below). He hates doing press duties, that Rrrrrabiosa!

There’s something about Arsenal in training that always seems to gives off an aura of calmness and tranquility. As if they’re all really just at summer/autumn camp making friends, wearing their specially-commissioned shirts and chatting with scones awaiting them in the corner. They’re all pretty Latin American in that sense because none of the Gunners care what you think about them unless….well, we’ll save that for future Blind Items!
Arsenal will face Marseille at the Emirates today on a high from Sunday’s win led by their Sunday Senor and Wenger said :
“I believe [Marseille] have a team [better suited to] playing away from home than at home. They have a side that can defend well; very physical and quick on the break. They’ve gained confidence, like we have, since the last game, so it will be an interesting tie.
For us it is an opportunity to quality tomorrow and we want to take that chance.
