The Milan tifosi and players rallied together last night to show their support for Antonio Cassano, the AC Milan striker who will undergo an interventional cardiac surgery (of his heart) to close the ‘foramen ovale’. Doctors only ruled this when they discovered he was suffering from ischemic brain damage and he has been ruled out of football for up to six months. In many ways, it’s also sad because Cassano is known as one of the ‘jokers’ in the Milan team, always ready to have a laugh and do cool stuff your uncle does like stage Photo Bombs and pull wedgies.
“Antonio (seen above between Pato and Ibra) jokes as usual and he missed the kick (in training). He said he was disappointed because he was doing very well, I told him not to worry: we’ll keep his place,” said Milan’s vice-president, Adriano Galliani.
Ibrahimovic and his agent visited his teammate at the hospital, as did Ilary Blasi (Francesco Totti’s wife), Ambrosini, former Milan legend Stefano Eranio and Cassano’s wife, Carolina Marcialis. Many more visitors are expected today, and there was already an outpour of support from fans and players who know the funnyman and are waiting outside the Policlinico di Milano hospital.
