TUDO BEM?!! Welcome to Day 2 of the Selecao Bootcamp, brought to you by the “Caras Novas” or newbies of the Brazilian team - Alex Sandro, Bruno Cesar, Dudu, Kleber and Willian! Many of them are from the winning U-20 Brazilian national side and were picked based on those performances. We’ll see how they do for the senior squad on Thursday!
Mano’s men trained in the presence of some of the most passionate fans in Libreville yesterday afternoon, and the players even got emotional at the support received. On the way to the training ground, the Selecao team bus also drove past houses which were completely destroyed (as seen below).
Barcelona’s Dani Alves did not expect to receive the kind of reception he did (surprisingly), and remained modest when quizzed about it after training.
“It’s a privilege to come here and bring joy to the fans. These people are struggling and have suffered. I hope that our arrival makes these people happy. I did not expect to be so popular, but it should be (because of) the club that I play at (Barcelona). I represent the national team. But I think the most important is the love of our fans and us for them” – Daniel Alves.
