“Marhaban!” to Egypt, Atletico Madrid! That’s right, just when you thought the guys had enough of excursions to cola-making factories, Rojiblancos have done it again with an epic expedition to the Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders Of The World. Obviously, everybody wants to visit the country for their breathtaking Pyramids and marvel at the power of King Khufu’s tomb but it’s NOT all these guys have because Egyptian music and food are actually pretty ”fazeea!” (cool) too. Ok, you can add the Pharaoh and Cleopatra to that list…
Anyway, Egyptian fans and media followed the team around and documented their every move from the moment they put on the traditional Arab headgear to the tricky process of getting onto a camel. Diego Ribas, Tiago and Jose Antonio Reyes were all stopped by local fans for photos. On the other hand, some of Atleti’s players even ran out of memory card space because they took too many photos of the three pyramids and the Sphinx (oh dios… ¿estás bromeando?!)
Later, the team headed to a museum store where they glossed in fascination over the items on display. Cut to the image of Diego screaming “A’teni hatheh!” (I want this!). No, we’re only joking – he’s too nice to make such demands. Now pass the shisha!
