Feliz viernes! The Spanish National Team finally unveiled their FIERY Euro 2012 camisetas nuevas in Las Rozas, Madrid a few hours ago. The red tones have been dramatically emphasized to match the country’s national colours while the blue stripes on the sleeves from last season have also been removed. They’ve also enhanced the socks so it doesn’t look out of place next to Spain’s national flag. As for Casillas, he said : “I’m not superstitious – (we) chose this colour (when we) remembered our second national colour. This yellow is a tone I really like.” Spoken like a fashion forward man!
Anyway, La Furia Roja’s video for this campaign features these guys dramatically declaring WHO they are… “Somos Campeones del Mundo!” announces David Villa. Duh! Meanwhile, the scene where Xavi walks up to you (deja vu!) is such a rock star moment – intense and almost like his own Hollywood twin, Robert Downey Jr.
Speaking of Xavi, he also received a special medal and cap to commemorate his 100 appearances for Spain alongside Iker Casillas. There was no hostility between Barca and Madrid here, e claro, because these guys are like the United Nations of Spanish football!
Goalkeeping legend Andoni Zubizarreta (also seen here) was also present to give out the award. FELICITACIONES, tipos...un poco el vino tinto ahora?!!
