Every Wednesday, we cover the weird and wacky side of football you can’t get anywhere else! This week, read about The Beckhams return to Paris (oo-la-la!), Ronaldo’s Gala Night Date & Schweinsteiger’s “tattoo” advise from the Bayern Medical team!
Well, we all know that Germany’s favourite son, Bastian Schweinsteiger, has been sidelined with a fracture on his right shoulder. As a result, he has been granted a lot of free time lately to recuperate! So of course, with all that freedom, your Bayern Munich dude has been transformed into one of those deep-thinking poet-types. He said :
“I take long walks on (the) Isar. I watch DVDs – the last one was the mountaineering drama, 127 hours (starring James Franco). I started reading a book, Invisible, by Paul Auster – it’s a disturbing, American novel. In addition, have been meeting a lot with friends. Since I can now drive again, my time as ‘passenger’ is finally over!”
How dramatic! In addition, Bayern’s physio-team has advised him to get a tattoo on his right shoulder (all that symbolism!), but Bastian politely declined saying “that is not an option!”

Que doce!! Look what we have here – some candid moments from your favourite player, Cristiano Ronaldo and his fiance, Irrrrina Shayk! Because when he isn’t creating goals for Madrid, he’s enjoying his time with his missy... Duh!
The duo attended an event last week in Madrid and the pink pages went mad for the photos. They hardly step out together, and he never talks about their relationship – or any of his past ones, for that matter – so this could be the start of a new Madrid-based trend. Step aside, IkerBonero!
Last but not least, the rumours of David Beckham joining Paris St Germain next season are spreading like wildfire. Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and of course – our favourite one of them all – Harper (!) could all be joining an international school in Paris next season, if you believe what you read. Alas, the American Dream may end this year for David, especially since Europe (and possibly the UK) may need him next year for the Olympics! It’s all about making sure he’s ‘around’, folks!
“At the moment I’m still a Galaxy player and I said I’d finish this season, respect the contract I signed, which I’ve always done, and then sit down with my family and see how I feel and what’s going to be best. None of the players at Galaxy want me to leave and, if I do leave, it will be sad. I’ve spent five years in the same team with the majority of these players and I’ve got to know them so well. It would be sad but we’ll see.” – Beckham
