Long before Sara Carbonero… there was Mamen Sanz! She’s the equivalent of Victoria Beckham when it comes to the Spanish Mega Wag status (eye-rolls all across the town again, we see) but there’s a lot more to her than meets the eye. Raul has been linked to a high money-making move to Qatar next season, and the worried German press – who want him to stay at Schalke, it seems – has declared that his wife has the final say it all of this. Ooooh, mujer poderosa!
“Raul’s family is more important than money. I do not think he will go to Qatar.” - Schalke’s boss Clemens Tönnies.
Mamen has grown fond of life in Dusseldorf along with their five children (Jorge, Hugo, Hector Mateo, Maria). The kids go to international school while Hugo plays in the U-10 squad of Fortuna Düsseldorf.
Speaking of the Beckhams, here they are arriving in the UK to celebrate Christmas. Victoria… some stockings would be nice – the weather is freezing! Harper wins the prize for best dressed again, simply because she looks comfortable. Then again, it’s only about five seconds until their chauffeur-driven ride arrives. Get ready to be overworked over Christmas, UK tabloids!

Dani Alves took part in Global Humanitarian (charity) event last night, in aid of Juazeiro, his hometown in Brazil. He spoke about Jose Mourinho’s recent statements, where the Portuguese declared he would rather “win the Champions League” rather than a “couple of partidillo” – a sarcastic jab at Barca’s World Club Cup win in Japan.
“I’ve always say that Mourinho is a person who plays his role and always underestimates what the rest accomplish. Something only has value when you earn it. Jealousy is very bad.”
