It’s Christmas week… la semana de Navidad! In the Premiership, however, life goes on for Kun Aguero and co’, who scored in City’s 3-0 victory over Stoke City last night. Kun scored a brace, and the goal celebrations had everything except Dani Alves‘ brilliant Santa hat. Samir Nasri and David Theelba all joined in to rejoice in the fact that City are now top of the table – the first time since 1929. Bring out that Minestrone soup your grandpa made when he was nine!
“(But) for our supporters I think it’s a good Christmas. If we want to win the championship we should get 90 points because Manchester United keep winning.” – Mancini.
In Spain, Barcelona’s Andres Iniesta has been diligently shopping for Christmas…. with the help of his fans, no less! ¿no te parece que es brillante?! Yes, he invited two of his biggest fans along to pick out some gifts with him, including perfumes for his wife. Seriously, what could be better than that? Interestingly, the pink hues look like a piece of art by quirky Spanish designer Agatha Luiz de la Prada. Good on you, Andres!
Meanwhile, Ronaldinho is quickly falling into that dreaded category of “Forgotten Cariocas Of 2011″. Fortunately, he’s still a big deal in Brasil (naturalmente… he was once among the world’s best!) where his every move is reported. According “El Dia”, The Dinho has been promoting several “pyjama parties” on a farm in Porto Alegre. Attendees of the party include several women (insert “naturalmente” here again!) Romarinho (Romario’s son) and Diego, a nephew of Ronaldinho. You’ll have to be fully dressed in pyjamas to attend the party, which lasts all day and probably includes a complimentary mud pie somewhere.
Our sources in Brasil also tell us that Luisao hosts some of the best Christmas parties around this time of the year. One man who’ll certainly NOT be attending is Kaka!
