Ahhhh! Sadly, there was no such thing as post-marriage luck for Alvaro Negredo last night as Sevilla crashed to a narrow Spanish Cup defeat in the hands of Valencia, despite their 2-1 win. Painfully, it was based on the away goals rule and those are always the hardest to bear! Oh, es doloroso … Sevilla can now spend the rest of the season preparing their ‘traje corto’ outfits for the annual Feria festival in April. Not the entire squad, only Jesus Navas to be specific.

Meanwhile, Catalonia (well, some parts at least) is up in arms over Alvaro Vazquez, the Espanyol forward who scored a hat-trick in their 4-2 win over Cordoba last night. And who could forget Alvaro’s goal in their 1-1 draw over Barcelona at the weekend?!! Alvaro’s family had better install new fencing equipment in their backyard before dodgy agents start knocking on their door. Any day now, Senor Vasquez… any day!
