Meanwhile, Atletico’s new coach Diego Simeone steered the team to a resounding 3-0 victory over Villarreal yesterday (not again, Yellow Submarines!) with two goals from Falcao and one from Diego Ribas (duh!) It’s definitely a great way for Simeone to kick off his campaign and hopefully take Atletico to a Europa league spot next season.

Last but certainly not least, the Blaugranas presented their FIFA World Club Cup trophy and Leo Messi’s Ballon d’Or award to their supporters at the Nou Camp last night.
