LA LIGA LUNES: Barcelona’s Tribute To Deceased Journalist, Valencia Draw ‘Blood’ & Return Of Kaka

You can argue that everything Barca does these days is being scrutinized or subject to unfair criticism. But it’s hard to deny the club’s latest tribute to a journalist who passed away and spent his life reporting on the club. That’s affectionate dedication for you!

Last week prior to the club’s normal press conference, first-team players Xavi, Puyol, Valdés and Iniesta along with Pep Guardiola observed a silent tribute to Dani Montesinos, who formerly worked for Spanish TV and Barca TV. “The loss of Dani is terrible. He was in almost every press conference,” said Guardiola.

When we’ve passed on, you can expect something like : “They were crazy, always coming in late and asking the most terrible questions – but we’ll miss them! About the match today…”

When Valencia drew 2-2 with Racing Santander over the weekend, there was also a lot of blood involved. Thankfully, Christian Fernandez got his bleeding head sorted out in the end and his side managed to come away with one point. It would’ve been tragic if Santander ended up losing this match. Perhaps Los Che felt bad and decided to gift the 88th minute goal to Bernardo anyway. Well, it’s Los Che anyway, one of the nicest teams in football – es la verdad, hermanas!

Lastly, here’s the forgotten Kaka sharing his pleasure on scoring a goal against Zarazoga in Saturday’s 3-1 victory, which also saw Mesut Ozil and Ronaldo getting on the score sheet. What’s great is whenever Kaka speaks, you feel like you’ve been transported to a room with 40 candles and a pastor preaching a sermon at the altar. Calmness and tranquility – well, a little Kaka on a Monday is good!
