Que dulce! Valencia kept to their promise to the fans last night and held Barca to a 1-1 draw with a 27th minute screamer from Jonas. Part of the promise was to play their best and not lose in front of the home fans, so this result is significantly better than a loss. Right Adil Rami?

Of course, the Mestalla went absolutely berserk with that goal but there was an unshakeable feeling in the pit of their stomachs that Barcelona were going to come back. And of course, they did with Puyol’s goal from Alexis Sanchez’s corner kick. The second leg takes place at the Nou Camp next week!

With that headgear, you’re almost expecting Fabregas to yell “I’m the King Of Clay, Bitches” (after Rafael Nadal) but thankfully, he’s in football with all of us!

We have an interesting infographic from Opta showing Fabregas‘ passing pattern during both legs of the Copa del Rey quarterfinals between Barca and Real Madrid.

The red arrows indicate the number of saves Iker Casillas needed to make while the blue arrows represent Fabregas’ passes to a fellow Tiki-Taka architect (aka Xavi, Sanchez). As you can see, Cesc’s pass completion rate is brilliant and he dropped down quite a bit as well – impressive!
