One of the perks of being a professional futbolito is obviously getting new cars sent to your doorstep every season (listen up, AC Milan fans!) While the European elite get to drive their shiny new Audis, Atletico Madrid’s players received keys to our favourite car of all time instead – a Volkswagen Beetle! Qué Guay tipos!
The partnership saw the entire first-team and of course, new coach Diego Simeone, receiving the classic cars yesterday at the Vicente Calderon stadium. You can almost imagine Diego taking his brand new ride for a spin to the nearest Madrid churro shop (traditional Spanish donut shop) afterwards. The car would look perfect in London – the only problem is shipping it across the English Channel!
