Noticias : Luis Suarez Returns With Stomach Kick And Selecao’s Religious “Cult”

Luis Suarez is back in business, whether any of you futbolitinos like it or not! Over the weekend, we spoke to a few Uruguayans about the striker’s return to the Premier League and they all shared a similar nonchalant and supportive approach for the Liverpool man. “He’s definitely going to watch his mouth now and think before saying anything about colour! But because of that, he may become more rough or ‘agresivo‘ on the pitch so the English will still hate him,” joked João, who supports Nacional in Uruguay.

Following Pool’s 0-0 draw with a resilient and impressive Spurs last night, it would have been a dream for the Kop to see Suarez score but alas… he kicked Scott Parker in the stomach (without meaning to, hopefully). Saving the goals for Saturday (United vs Liverpool) then, tipo?

Here’s some new information about Brazil’s World Cup campaign in 2010. Apparently, the selecao had evangelical ‘cults’ in the  camp led by assistant coach Jorginho and joined by players such as Kaka, Lucio, Joshua, Felipe Melo and Luisão. These guys isolated themselves in a room to pray, which is quite normal for the selecao anyway. However, this has been criticized by the Brazilian press, who says it creates a divide (possibly) between the team and also wastes time. Ouch!

“Formerly, (women) were a distraction.  Then came (playing) cards and religion. Today’s other distraction is the internet. Players are locked (in rooms) with their iPad, for the love of God, what can they do there?! They can do whatever they want in training camp as long as they do not disturb others” – Andrés Sanchez from the Brazilian Football Confederation
