There’s something beautifully eerie about Arsenal’s Emirates stadium when it experiences a night of snowfall. It almost looks like a scene out of the Twilight Zone and the colour of the sky just takes you to a different place. What are these goose pimples? Bring back November, please!
It’s strange how everyone said “it’s funny how London isn’t as cold as last year” and now there’s widespread frost every night in the city. But at least it’s coming to an end soon. Keep warm, futbolitinas!
Anyway, Arsenal’s first team trained yesterday at Colney and Andre Santos, being the sporting Brazilian that he is, knelt down to pose with the snow. O que é isso, cara?!!
Andre was just two seconds away from building a Snowman but thank goodness monsieur Wenger was holding an actual training session – and not one involving a Popsicle making workshop. Arsenal’s next fixture will be on Saturday against Sunderland and we’re pretty sure Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be in high spirits for this one! How impressive was he against Blackburn at weekend?
Speaking of Alex, surely Fabio Capello must have mentioned him in passing to Arsene Wenger when they met at the Laureus Sports awards over the weekend. Capello, of course, is actively seeking out his new England captain to replace John Terry.
Although Manchester City’s Joe Hart is the current favourite, Capello should probably think about his formidable Euro 2012 strategy and the players for his campaign before deciding on his captain. That’s if he makes it after tonight’s “showdown talks” with FA chairman David Bernstein!
