It’s a little strange to see Mario Balotelli scoring in a brand new jersey so quickly, but then again, Manchester City used the same colours in their away kit last season! Another case of Deja vu perhaps?!
Anyway, BaloBalls™ dived straight into action with the Rossoneri on Sunday night, scoring twice in their 2-1 win over Udinese. Admittedly, El Shaarawy must’ve been feeling a little disappointed that he didn’t get to score, but at least Balotelli lavished praise on his strike partner (“He’s a small guy, but very technical”) Also, two goals on a debut is a good way to justify the £19m price tag!
Meanwhile, Alessandro Matri and Stephan Lichtsteiner both scored in Juventus’ 2-1 win over Chievo yesterday. Unfortunately, Nicolas Anelka – who was recently signed on loan from Shanghai Shenhua – remained an unused substitute for Juventus. Obviously, the Frenchman didn’t mind it one bit – anything to scape the harsh summer and the confusing state of things in Shanghai would be good for now!
