After France and Portugal pulled off convincing wins to send themselves to the final list of 32 teams at the World Cup this week, it was only a matter of time before Uruguay did the same.

And so much for the phrase “Last but not least…”, they were the last squad to qualify for the 32-team tournament in Brazil next year. Uruguay fought to a 0-0 draw in Montevideo with Jordan, whom they had previously defeated 5-0 away. The Jordanian defence put up a good fight to ensure that their pride remained intact, despite the poor result in the first leg. Impressive!

Anyway, the Uruguayan fans were also sure to came out at full force from the stands, wearing masks, headgears and face paint to see their heroes advancing to the next stage of the tournament.

    Felicidades, Uruguay!
