Offbeat: Real Madrid’s Benzema ‘Baby Mama’ Puzzle, Man United WAGS Hit Red Carpet & Serie A Scandal

In your offbeat gossip column this week, Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema’s “Baby Mama” mystery seizes the French media, the Man United WAGS and their blokes turn up the style at a UNICEF party and Serie A’s very own marriage scandal.

If you are constantly being linked to scandal all over the French press like Karim Benzema, you’d be waving and taking it within your stride too.

Two days ago, the Real Madrid and French national striker, 25, made the headlines again for news that he would become a father to a baby girl next March.

Naturally, the inquisitive French public are screaming : “qui est la mère?!” (who is the mother?) and gossiping while pretending not to care.

Apart from Benzema’s baby-making capabilities, what is also worrying is the fact that the French are also obsessed with their reality TV stars and one of them may be the baby’s mother.

French reality TV contestant and actress, Manon Marsault had only been recently linked to Benzema, but their relationship “only lasted a few weeks”, according to the local media. As a result, she has been (rudely) left out of the puzzle!

Instead, according to ‘Public’, there is a high possibility that Benzema will be fathering the child of a 24-year-old French actress named Chloe, whom he has endured a stormy relationship with since 2010. You may recall that Benzema’s numerous sex scandals – including engaging an underage prostitute and a Belgian transvestite for their services – have been the reason for their breakups and reconcilations.

To add to the drama, Benzema has also been recently linked to a new girl named Sarah, a model who participated in a French reality modelling show “Nrj 12”.

So is it Chloe, Sarah or Manon? Ah, it’s “compliqué!”

It was a glamorous night for football last week when the Man United WAGS and their partners came together to attend the United for UNICEF gala dinner at Old Trafford.

Robin van Persie (seen above with his wife, Bouchra), led the way with the merry-making as the players arrived in their Sunday’s best.

Nemanja Vidic was joined by his wife Ana at the event and Anders Lindegaard also posed with his wife Misse Beqiri on the red carpet.

The ‘Married Bachelors’ who arrived without their wives included Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic.

Former Barcelona and AC Milan striker, Maxi Lopez (middle), found himself in a humiliating situation recently, after his ex-wife Wanda Nara got involved in a very public affair with Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi.

20-year-old Icardi played with Lopez when he was on loan at Sampdoria, before they both transferred to different Serie A sides (Lopez is now playing for Catania). The trio were very close, and often spent time together during off-season periods.

With three sons between them, Lopez and Nara called time on their marriage this year.

According to the Italian media, upon finding out about the breakdown of her marriage to Lopez, Icardi took  the chance to woo 27-year-old model Nara.

The new couple have been posting their photos and status messages all over their social media networks, generating criticism from fans and the media alike. Argentinean critics, in particular, have been harsh towards Icardi, whom they claim reserved “no respect” for his former teammate, Lopez.

Icardi also got his left arm tattooed with Wanda’s name. “I’ve washed it 10 times already and it won’t come off!” he declared, with the photo above.

Of course, this Serie A scandal has rocked the tabloid and backpages of Italy’s papers, with many comparing it to that of the John Terry-Wayne Bridge saga.
