Serie A : Japan’s Honda Arrives At AC Milan as The Old Lady Ends AS Roma’s Ten-Match Unbeaten Streak

It was a case of Almost there!” for Italian leaders, AS Roma last night, when they lost 3-0 to Juventus.

Having become the first Serie A team to win its opening 10 games of a season, Roma set an unprecedented record which left us all a little spell-bounded, in all honesty. However, Juventus decided that enough was enough – The ‘Old Lady‘ was going to march in and take charge of the situation!

Goals from Arturo Vidal, Leonardo Bonucci and a penalty from Mirko Vucinic all but sealed the deal for Roma, who were ten-men down at the end of the game. Daniele de Rossi and Leandro Castan both received red cards for a tackle and a handball. Guess these lads forgot about the ‘Christmas spirit’?!

Juventus now lead the Serie A table with 49 points, with Roma in second place at 41 points.

It’s no secret that AC Milan are currently suffering from one of their worst seasons in their history, and are sitting in 13th place on the Serie A table. Indeed, they are much closer to relegation than any other top four team, but at least their fans were happy to welcome Japanese star Keisuke Honda (above), when he arrived at Milan’s Malpensa airport on Saturday! You all know who will be serving up an introductory sushi lunch at his house just for Honda – it’s the smiling Robinho/Kaka combination!

Also, Massimo Allegri confirmed he would be leaving the club at the end of the season.

“I want to finish my time here the best way possible. I don’t know if we’ll be able to get back into contention for the league but that’s what we’re working on. I spoke to Galliani prior to Christmas about the decision to leave the club in June. It’s only in Italy where all the fuss is made. We’re professional and we have to work well to the end of the contract.” – Allegri
