We may have missed out on this week’s Gossip Column, but it’s quite impossible to avoid this story coming out from Spain!

Of course, it’s the fact that Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas and his partner Sara Carbonero welcomed their first baby this week- and it’s a boy named Martin. Felicidades!

Sara had a C-section (Caesarean) birth at a clinic in Madrid, and was discharged on Wednesday after being in the hospital for a few days.

The gossip column returns next Wednesday.

We’re very excited to announce that we will be working with the girls from the Street Child World Cup, a tournament that will be held in Brazil in March. It’s an exciting prelude to the actual World Cup, with a fantastic social cause!

The 10-day conference and competition will be held for boys and girls from all over the world, who live and work on the streets.

Some of the countries participating include Brazil, India, Argentina, Indonesia, The Philippines, USA, El Salvador, Egypt, England and South Africa.

The girls will be posting updates and photos of their experiences here, and you will also get to ‘live’ the Street Child World Cup experience with them right here on Futbolita!
