Premiership and Globalization’s Wonder Kid, Adnan Januzaj, has had a second bid from Paris Saint Germain rejected by Manchester United. Surely, they weren’t going to add France to the list of (five) existing countries that he can play for? C’est compliqué!!
PSG, who already had a £14m bid for Newcastle United’s Yohan Cabaye rejected, tried to lure Januzaj away from Old Trafford earlier last year. They were hoping to capitalize on United’s difficult first season under Moyes, which is irrelevant, given the fact that Man United learnt from the Paul Pogba incident and actually sat down with Januzaj to work through a plan that keeps him secure at the club.
This means that while PSG were willing to pay him an extraordinary amount that could potentially build a second and third Eiffel Tower with a gun shooting out glitter all over the city, he opted to stay and grow his career at United. Nice one, lad. It’s easier to say “Look Adnan, we’re out of the FA Cup and Capital One Cup. If you stay, you can help us get out of this!” as opposed to : “We’re riding high… and as for you, stay if you’d like!”
Despite the tragedy of Juan Mata leaving for Man United over the weekend, Chelsea’s Brazilian is still on a roll! After scoring an impressive free-kick in the first half, the Blues will now face Man City in the FA Cup fifth round.
Of course, Mourinho took a stab at Man City by saying they were a team “made to win” (as in formed by money for the purpose of winning). This begs the question – weren’t Chelsea branded Russian Oil heirs in 2006, whose products were Shevchenko, Deco, etc?
Jose Mourinho said: “No problem. If you want to be the best you have to play against the best, so it’s good for us. Good experience, good game, big game. We are ready to go there and enjoy. We are going to go there with a good attitude. We have nothing to lose, they have everything to lose, they are the team that was made to win.”
