That’s President Lula holding up the Copa da Brasil 2009 trophy and wearing the Corinthians sash at the Presidential palace yesterday! He’s a noted fan of the Timao and was notably delighted at the chance to hold the cup. “I don’t envy you… those who are not fans of Corinthians,” he said. Later, Lula joked with Jorge Henrique, saying he looked like Romário.

Anyway, the president and Ronaldo had a private conversation where he asked the player if he planned a return to Europe at the end of the year. The president’s second assistant said Ronaldo declared that his “cycle” in Europe had ended.

Andre Santos must be feeling like he’s on Cloud Nine after winning two trophies in the span of three days! Although we can’t say that he wasn’t all that spectacular for the selecao on Sunday, winning again within the same week must feel great.

Anyway, Corinthians are officially Copa do Brasil champions after a 2-2 draw against Internacional yesterday. Andre scored the second goal after his companheiro Jorge Henrique slotted in the opener in the 19th minute. Inter’s Alecsandro scored twice but was unable to change the 4-2 advantage the Timao had prior to the match.

Yes, here’s another one of those baby tributes, courtesy of Jorge Henrique! Corinthians came away with a 2-0 victory in the first leg of the Copa Brasil final against Internacional yesterday. The other goal was scored by The Ronaldo. Sadly for Internacional, Nilmar couldn’t feature in the game but we’re sure he watched it from the comforts of the hotel.

Corinthians’ louco fans, as usual, went all out for their team, lighting up a section of the stadium with their fire sticks! The next leg will be on July 1 at the Beira-Rio.
