• Sunday Señor : Messiah And The Boozefest

So there was no need to scratch our heads to decide this week’s Sunday Señor! After scoring a hat-trick, surely Antonella‘s man, The Messiah, deserves high praise! She must have done something during the holidays to help her novia find his form again for Barca. And no, it can’t be the churrascaria.

Anyway, David Maravilla must also be smiling, because it’s his first major tournament for Los Cules, and he walked away with a shiny new medal! Un buen comienzo de la temporada, for sure.

And here’s a bonus of Pique the Pout doing what he does best (besides enjoying the DJ lifestyle – no kidding)… showering booze! You know that they’ve got loads of champagne bottles stocked up in the dressing room, so he’s not worried that they’ll run out of it anytime soon. If they do, Bojan can always make a quick run for the supermart near his home.

It’s time for the beach… and Ibiza! Oh COME ON, you’re probably reading this in your sunnies right now. Everybody deserves a break after the World Cup – not just the jugadores, but the exhausted aficionados like YOU who have been so devoted to the game. All the transfer talk will probably be put on hold (yes, even all that Fabrecelona talk) until everybody comes back from holiday AND the wedding season, so both Perez and Sandro Rosell can put their phones down!

Whatever the case, Sara Carbonero was working it like a Chica Caliente while on a beach holiday with Casillas. Of course, Pique manages to surround himself with girls, which is a tad bit douchie, but well, you get that everywhere. And Meu Deus, are those floral shorts?

  • The Friday Crackòvia Club : Piqué Answers Piqué!

So gracias o dios it’s Friday… which means that it’s time for a cracker with the Crackovia Club! Whatever you’re doing this weekend — you’d better watch this video first. It’s Piqué being interviewed by his own Crackovia twin, who looks like a highly intoxicated version of Gerard Butler. Yesss, it’s another edition of “Una Contra Un” which featured Puyolita the last time.

Anyway, in this video, Pique says  he is not superstitious but he absolutely needs to leave the pitch with his right foot out first. Did he step out with the left one first against Inter? ¿quién sabe?

T’was a wet day in the office for the Blaugranas yesterday, but this did not prevent Geri the Pout Pique from splashing about at training! Ibracadabra was a brilliant choice of a personality to speak to ‘la presse’ although Titipo Henry would’ve been better, seeing that they’re facing the Gunners. Also, don’t forget to watch the match in HD tonight so that your Russian dreamboat, Arsh, can be seen in all his glory!

“I know I haven’t performed my best against English teams, most recently when Manchester United played Inter. But that wasn’t easy. In Italy, the team’s focus is on preventing goals. Where I play now, it’s more important to make the goals. It’s a different way of playing and it’s one that suits me better,” said Ibra.

It’s the Messiah and Ibracadabra! Oh dear, how we’ve missed thee. Anyway, our friends can’t stop yelling Bobojan’s names into our ears so we just had to put this up. This and the fact that Senor Pep was recently inducted an ambassador for Qatar’s 2022 World Cup bid. Yes, even the cat sitting outside thinks it’s all pretty random, but Pep actually played for Al Ahli for two years so that explains it all!

Of course, the Messiah believes they will beat FC Stuttgart in the Champs League tonight despite the fact that “German sides are always strong.” Pique the Pout however, is giving you the benefit of the doubt….

  • La Liga Novela : Negredo, Pique & Higuain!

What a dramatic turn of events for Alvaro Negredo! Stellar performances from the past two weeks and a Sunday Señor title (don’t you know you get a tub of Ben & Jerry’s for that?!) wasn’t enough to tide Alvaro over for another week. Tipo scored an own goal and got himself sent off last night in Sevilla’s 2-1 loss to Zaragoza. Se destacó, hombre?

Elsewhere, Geri The Pout Piqué also got himself sent off within 24 minutes of Barca’s encounter against Getafe. Immediately, all the Catalan dance clubs extended their operating hours to 7AM and changed their music genres from House to Rock. Because you know… there’s no party unless DJ Pique turns up!

Anyway, even with nine men down, Barca obviously emerged unscathed and won the game thanks to goals from The Messiah and Xavi. They then proceeded to the club and were approached like this…. (ok, ok we’re really kidding here).

Anyway here are some of our favorite photos from the La Liga weekend. Madrid’s The Pied Piper of Higuain looks to be in fine shape (in every possible way, yes yes) for the World Cup! The Dona better draft him into his Argentinean squad pronto and quit trying to figure out what the fuss about the Superbowl is about.

    Geri The Pout Piqué
…. Quieres ser Sleeping Beauty?! This just shows how tired everyone at the Barca camp is and although we think the World Club Championship can be quite unnecessary at times, they’re all paid millions so they’d better work it!

Anyway, here we have the bevy of Barca beauties for you as they enjoy some “me time” on the plane. Xavi looks delighted to be sitting next to a wide-screen while Puyolita is feeling right at home with his black socks. How dare you judge! Meanwhile, the moment he lands, the Messiah is whisked away to the beaches of Abu Dhabi. Also, let’s not forget Ibracadabra and his fan… thumbs up, anyone?

  • Piqué The Pout!

Oh, the passion on Pique the Pout’s face speaks volumes, following his goal against Inter last night!! Este tipo puts in a lot of effort when he plays, so you could say that he deserves it and now he can safely resume his role as a Twilight vampire (cue the trees!)

“It was a very important game for us and we’ll think about it later. We had a very good start, we went ahead and we kept their attack at a distance. Now I think only of playing in the game against Real,” he declared.

Unfortunately for Inter, they forgot to come to work last night. Senor Jose is apparently in the mood for Christmas and didn’t bother issuing instructions of any kind, preferring to let the wine things flow. Meanwhile, plenty of hugs were exchanged between Eto’o and the gang (sweet!) and Pique even gave him his jersey after the game. You know you loved it!

I give my heartfelt thanks to all. It was a little strange to be in the other locker room, but this is football. I hope that Barcelona remains (like this) and we can win (our next game) so that we will qualify,” said Eto’o.

    • The Dinho is this year’s winner of the Golden Foot award… and yes, you’re looking at his lovely feet. All you haters better sit down and congratulate him for all the hard work he’s done this year! Anyway, the award is typically given to an outstanding individual who is approaching his 30s. And while you may think that it’s a fight between the Has Beens (the voting was supposedly a “great battle against Raúl González, Thierry Henry and Gianluigi Buffon”), could this be a way to spur this lazy Milanista? Unless of course, he has officially resigned to other things…
    • Uncle Fester Galliani has declared that Becks will probably be making his way back to Milan on loan (again) next year. “It’s very probable that Beckham will come to Milan on loan until June 30, but I don’t give anything as fact until there’s a signature,” he said.
    • Raver Ramos has appeared in Shangay, a magazine for gay men. The pose is acceptable – by his standards – but everything else, including the following quote isn’t. “Every year I go out wondering if my sister is my girlfriend. I have no time to find a woman,” he said. What?!!!!!! Not cool, tipo. Not cool at all.
    • Geri The Pout Pique is the sexy face of Catalan jewellery brand, Rosich because he loves their latest collection called “Breathe”. He’s also impressed with the “the existing friendship that binds the family.” Anyway, here he is with Carla Crombie, the best model at Cibeles Fashion Week 2010. See em’ worrrrrrk!

  • Barca Thrash Racing!

Los Cules strolled to a comfortable 4-1 win over Racing last night thanks to a double from the Messiah and two additional goals from Pique and Ibracadabra. What else did you expect? For Puyolita to bag a hat-trick of own goals? That won’t be happening anytime soon! These folks are on a roll… and Pep Guardiola didn’t even need a mud bath.

“I am satisfied with the first and second half. We were serious throughout. We didn’t want to go crazy making unnecessary efforts, we passed the ball well and that made us stronger. We controlled the game,” Pep said after the game.

In other news, Samuel Eto’o is demanding around €3m (£2.7m) from Senor Laporta as part of the Barca to Inter deal. If he needs help, Potter Perez is just a phone call away…. or not.

  • Spanish Win For Jarque

The ferosha La Furia Roja homems scored thrice in five minutes to give Spain a 3-2 win over Macedônia last night. The match was filled with tributes to Dani Jarque as players gathered for a minute of silence and dedicated their goals to him.

Reira, in particular, pointed to the sky in memory of his friend when he scored the winner.

“It [the goal] was for him, for his family, for Espanyol,” he told AS.

Added Geri Pique, who scored the equaliser for Spain : “This is dedicated to him, he deserves it,” he said.

  • Barca Go Back To The Americas!

Oooh, we’re jelizz of all you Americans. All we got were English teams coming to our side of the world (hey, we can’t complain though) and you pessoas get the sexy Spaniards! Even Bobojan is going on tour. Well, at least they love their fans there – they travelled to USA four times in the last six years.

The Barca Boys are now in Los Angeles and will also travel to Seattle and San Francisco where they will play 3 matches against the MLS sides. The plane they boarded carried 160 people in total and this was largely comprised of their entourage which included players, members of the coaching staff, directors, 26 journalists, 8 fans and relatives of the players. DJ Pique was also on board, but no news of the in flight entertainment though.

Futbolitas, if you’re going for any of the games in the USA, let us know ahora!

  • Sad But Sexy Spaniards

Noooooo! There goes our dream final of Spain VS Brazil. Then again, overconfidence doesn’t get you anywhere, so we’d better shut up about defeating South Africa tonight because they might pull a USA and suffocate Kaka and the fantastic Felipe Melo in midfield – like what they did to Xavi yesterday.

“We did a very good job of sealing down the middle of the field. When you play Spain you have to work hard as a group to defend and when we had the ball we needed to be aggressive,” admitted USA’s coach Bob Bradley.

Anyway, all good things come to an end and it’s the same with Spain after their 2-0 loss yesterday. A perfect, squeaky clean winning record will eventually be ousted – especially in football. But ombres – a significant number who were in Barca’s treble-winning squad – are desperately in need of a break. And whaddya know? Pique and Raver Ramos are booking flights to Ibiza as we speak!

  • Pique Awaits The Final!

Ooh is that Piqué looking muy sexy and nervous at the same time?! It certainly is.

Anyway, the game of the year (if both teams make it) is a Brazil – Spain Final in the Confederations Cup. We’re shaking in the knees at the prospect. You futbolitas better be ready because Pique is ready to pique your interest right about… now!

“We are in the semis and we must not think of the final yet, but it is clear that a victory over Brazil would have more value and prestige,” he said.

He added,”We know the level of Brazil, which is one of the best in the world. They taught Italy a lesson, scoring three times past them, and they had many more chances.”

  • Piqué Not Afraid Of Perez

    foto_369479_CAS

Geri The Pout Piqué is not afraid of Potter Perez and insists that only a lion would be able to scare him, instead of Potter’s absurd monetary antics that have taken the football world by storm in the recent week. Yes, seriously have you wondered how the hell the non-futbol folk find the time to sleep while an earthquake is going on here in Futbol Land?! Why do people even bother making cakes? Ok.. we got carried away again.

“They signed (Kaka and Ronaldo) because they needed it. Next year the league (will be) fantastic (because) so many stars will be coming,” Pique said at a news conference.

“We’ll send a message of tranquility. After winning the triple, there is no other team that (we should fear). Real Madrid is  spending a lot of money but I prefer (a formula) that has already worked and will work next year – I prefer to be on Barça’s side,” he added.

He’s right. Barca have always managed to balance their squad out beautifully, and their youth system will always be one of the best – something that Real can’t say the same about.

  • Futbolita speaks to Gerard Piqué!

Yes, amigos, we spoke to Barça’s Gerard Piqué on Monday! Well, it wasn’t as bad as the Clarence Seedorf interview  earlier this year where we had to wait up for his assistant to call us at 3AM. Piqué lived up to his reputation as the fun-loving and rubbish-talker based on our 13 minute conversation that the lovely folks at Barca arranged for us before the trip to Rome.

Anyway, we decided that hombre had enough of all the technical talk. So, with Messa Garcia’s help, we went with the iPod theme. A little lazy to rewrite the story we did for our local paper so here are a few quotes…

    On his music tastes

“Whenever we win, I like to play Queen’s ‘We are the Champions’. I have the Robbie Williams version too and sometimes we play it on repeat. But the songs always come from my iPod.”

“Yes, the stewardesses were not very happy on the flight back to Barcelona from London. They saw Thierry (Henry) and Eric (Abidal) dancing a little and they left us alone for a while!”

On what he’ll play if Barca Win

“It’s something I haven’t thought about yet. And we can’t think about that now. I’ll just try to play my best and win the match. ?It will be very complicated as we’ll be facing the current champion and one of the best teams in the world.”

On returning to play against his former side

“Yes, of course there will be some emotions. There will be many memories coming into the game because I grew (as a player) in England and learnt many things there from Sir Alex.”

“We want to make history in Spain (achieving a treble) and this is the best chance for us.”

  • Pique, oh Pique

    CHAMPIONS SOCCER-SPAIN/

Gerard Piqué is dying to meet Foreignchester United in the finals of the Champions League. And he’s so confident it will happen that he wants you to look him in the eye and tell him that you love him he’s wrong….

“The team has the capacity to win there. This team can win at any ground. I’m sure that we are going to get through,” he declared.

“If Chelsea want to get through to the final they have to score, and that suggests they will be more open. Stamford Bridge is a smaller ground and it will make it more complicated for our style of play. As well as that, the fans there are right on top of you and I’m sure there will be an intense atmosphere.”

Titipo Henry is still working on his fitness for tonight’s game (according to Pep, they’ll have to see how things are in a few hours…). If he doesn’t feature tomorrow, this might mean a start for Bobojan!

  • The Spaniards who’ll face England

    espana 2008

Ah, it seems like it was only yesterday when Spain won the Euros (why leave Aragones out of the celebrations, tipos?!!). The next major national competition will be a while away. So for now, let’s take a closer look at the Selección to face England in next week’s friendly.

The obvious new additions to Uncle Del Bosque’s squad are Gérard Pique and Sergi Busquets who’ve both featured significantly in Barca’s recent campaign. He’s doing a Dunga, and calling players up according to form (Or maybe not lately, Dunga). Here’s the full squad :

Goalkeepers: Iker Casillas (Real Madrid) e Pepe Reina (Liverpool/ING).

Defenders: Raúl Albiol (Valencia), Carlos Marchena (Valencia), Álvaro Arbeloa (Liverpool/ING), Joan Capdevila (Villarreal), Juan Gutiérrez (Betis), Juanito (Betis), Gérard Pique (Barcelona), Carles Puyol (Barcelona) e Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid).

Midfielders: Xabi Alonso (Liverpool/ING), Albert Riera (Liverpool/ING), Sergi Busquets (Barcelona), Xavi (Barcelona), Andrés Iniesta (Barcelona), Santiago Cazorla (Villarreal), Marcos Senna (Villarreal) e David Silva (Valencia).

Attackers: Daniel Güiza (Fenerbahçe/TUR), Fernando Llorente (Athletic Bilbao), Fernando Torres (Liverpool/ING) e David Villa (Valencia)
