• Piqué The Pout!

Oh, the passion on Pique the Pout’s face speaks volumes, following his goal against Inter last night!! Este tipo puts in a lot of effort when he plays, so you could say that he deserves it and now he can safely resume his role as a Twilight vampire (cue the trees!)

“It was a very important game for us and we’ll think about it later. We had a very good start, we went ahead and we kept their attack at a distance. Now I think only of playing in the game against Real,” he declared.

Unfortunately for Inter, they forgot to come to work last night. Senor Jose is apparently in the mood for Christmas and didn’t bother issuing instructions of any kind, preferring to let the wine things flow. Meanwhile, plenty of hugs were exchanged between Eto’o and the gang (sweet!) and Pique even gave him his jersey after the game. You know you loved it!

I give my heartfelt thanks to all. It was a little strange to be in the other locker room, but this is football. I hope that Barcelona remains (like this) and we can win (our next game) so that we will qualify,” said Eto’o.

  • Barca … Back To Business!

Oh, Senor Pep! Ha sido un largo tiempo! Now that the internationals are over and done with, Barca’s Babes are getting ready to face the exciting Valencia tomorrow. As expected, the Messiah flew back via private jet which was provided by the club. Everyone else had to walk and among the last to arrive were Piqué, Busquets and Iniesta. Meanwhile, Ibracadabra arrived at the Ciudad Deportivo Joan Gamper with some ‘discomfort in the knees’. Come on, ya’ll all know what he was up to on the dancefloor…!

Meanwhile, Robinho has expressed his interest in the Catalan giants… “Of course I would like to play for Barca, who wouldn’t? We could have so much fun. It would be a pleasure to play next to (Lionel) Messi, to my compatriot (Dani) Alves, Xavi, (Andres) Iniesta, (Zlatan) Ibrahimovic… with all of them. They are a great team,” he said.

“I’ve played against them and I know their quality. But at the moment at the moment I can only do it (play with them) on the PlayStation. It’s an honour that a coach like him (Guardiola) speaks highly of Robinho, and rates me as much as I read he does.”

A little humble pie goes a long way, gato...

  • Sad But Sexy Spaniards

Noooooo! There goes our dream final of Spain VS Brazil. Then again, overconfidence doesn’t get you anywhere, so we’d better shut up about defeating South Africa tonight because they might pull a USA and suffocate Kaka and the fantastic Felipe Melo in midfield – like what they did to Xavi yesterday.

“We did a very good job of sealing down the middle of the field. When you play Spain you have to work hard as a group to defend and when we had the ball we needed to be aggressive,” admitted USA’s coach Bob Bradley.

Anyway, all good things come to an end and it’s the same with Spain after their 2-0 loss yesterday. A perfect, squeaky clean winning record will eventually be ousted – especially in football. But ombres – a significant number who were in Barca’s treble-winning squad – are desperately in need of a break. And whaddya know? Pique and Raver Ramos are booking flights to Ibiza as we speak!

  • Piqué Not Afraid Of Perez

Geri The Pout Piqué is not afraid of Potter Perez and insists that only a lion would be able to scare him, instead of Potter’s absurd monetary antics that have taken the football world by storm in the recent week. Yes, seriously have you wondered how the hell the non-futbol folk find the time to sleep while an earthquake is going on here in Futbol Land?! Why do people even bother making cakes? Ok.. we got carried away again.

“They signed (Kaka and Ronaldo) because they needed it. Next year the league (will be) fantastic (because) so many stars will be coming,” Pique said at a news conference.

“We’ll send a message of tranquility. After winning the triple, there is no other team that (we should fear). Real Madrid is  spending a lot of money but I prefer (a formula) that has already worked and will work next year – I prefer to be on Barça’s side,” he added.

He’s right. Barca have always managed to balance their squad out beautifully, and their youth system will always be one of the best – something that Real can’t say the same about.

Did Chelski honestly think that they would have it easy? Lo siento, but they deserved to be out! Barca showed that they deserved it all by pulling through with ten-men. Even if you think the away-goal rule was always going to be on their side – not any team could’ve pulled off what they did last night.

To be fair, Essien’s early screamer really changed the game. Barcelona dominated the ball possession, played more fluidly and took more risks. Hell, they even took advantage of Chelsea’s weak midfield. So when they were one man down, we were about to commit suicide until Iniesta put his money where his mouth was and delivered!

“‘If it had been in the fifth minute I would have hit it into the stands but I struck it with my whole soul and it went in the only place it could. Until the whistle has blown you have to believe,” said Iniesta.

”We keep going, we are consistent and we showed a lot of strength and bravery and created the chance at the end,” added Pep. ”I’m sure it will be a nice final because we will attack, we know that. I know they are a huge team but we are Barcelona.”

And today, we will shake the hand of every Barca fan on the street – including yours!!!!
