Seleção Bootcamp : Match Day!

Quão brilhante! These fans turned up at full force to watch Brasil play Ireland in London yesterday… and if this isn’t hardcore (ok, that title belongs to the River and Boca fans), then we’re not quite sure what is!

As expected, manos defeated Ireland 2-0 and the goals were thanks to Robinho (although it was deflected and considered an own goal! Poor Keith Andrews, time for some chicken broth, love). As you can tell, tipos were clamoring over themselves to do well as the Copa del Mundo approaches. Adriano also started alongside his amigo in Santos and of course…. fofo Nilmaaaaar himself came in as a replacement for the goalscorer himself later in the game.

This edition of the Selecao Bootcamp was a relatively short one as the guys make their way back to their clubs to play in the domestic leagues. We look forward to more jacuzzi stretching exercises in próximos jogos!

Continuação da Ópera de Robinho!

Haven’t we all seen this from Robinho before? The jersey kissing and outraged facial expressions? Only this time it’d better be for a good cause because Dopey probably still considers him a favourite for SELECAO BOOTCAMP : South Africa!

“He fulfilled what he promised and I was happy with his performance. Robinho decided the game. I think (by Robinho being on the field) it just gets better for the Saints. With the three of us playing together  (Neymar, Robinho and Paulo Henrique), we hope to give joy to supporters,” declared Neymar aka Santos’s Fetus Extraordinaire after their 2-1 win over Sao Paulo in the Paulista Championship over the weekend. Sim, estamos tristes….

What a safe statement, Neymar. Everyone knows that upon his arrival, Robinho was treated like Sultan and fed a bowl of Premium Turkish delights. King Pele personally saw that all this was taken care of… that’s how it really works!

The Return Of Saint Sobinho

Drop your sewing machines NOW because Saint Robinho has arrived back at Santos!!!! And amigas, his welcome home party was like a prelude to Carnaval itself – without the floats of course. As always, King Pele made his presence known to everyone at the Urbano Caldeira by breaking into one of his 2,134 speeches. Then, Robinho and himself gazed into one another’s eyes and they ran through the field with their arms interlocked. We’re not kidding! Sthefany Brito called and she wants them to be in her next soap opera called Páginas do Futebolista Falha.

On a serious note, Robster sobbed to journalist about his time at Madrid. Yeah yeah, we know he was mistreated, left out of Raul’s numerous tea-parties and basically, benched like there was no tomorrow. Você é tão CHATO, cara! (you’re so boring, dude).

“I went the wrong way from Real Madrid. I know that the fans will never understand. But it was the only time. My departure from City was on friendly terms. We talked and they released me. There was no controversy,” he said.

All About Robinho… And His Lamborghini!

Não mais … não mais! You know you’ve had enough of all this Robinho talk (he was so Wednesday). All of us moved quickly from Adrian SibutraMutu to John Terry over the course of the week but the question remains – who gets to keep Robinho’s Lamborghini at Manchester City when he leaves? Will it be Sylvinho or that random dude next to him in the video below?

In another bizarre message to his fans… don’t sweat it, Santos futbolitas. Robinho can’t wait to see you either so lembre-se, recebê-lo em biquínis!

Zizou and amigos played out to a nice 3-3 draw in last night’s “Match of the Stars” to help Haiti. And don’t you agree that it’s tres bien to see Rui Costa, Luis Figo and Edgar David’s Mask on the field again?! Daaaamn, feels like old times. Anyway forty international football stars from across the world joined UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) to play that match against Benfica All Stars. This is the match which Kaka played on behalf of Greaseano cuz’ their Bromance is going out of hand and bros don’t let bros down. Anyway, once again it’s amazing how futbol has transcended all boundaries and reached out to those in need!

By coming to the stadium people have done a great thing. I am very happy we can do something to help,” said Zizou. Added Louis Van Gaal, who was in charge of the All-Star squad : “This is a very good cause, that’s why there are so many players here. Football is with the people of Haiti.”

van Nistelrooy has switched sides from Madrid to Hamburg (a pity, since we hear he’s one of our dear amiga’s favourite interviewees!) .Granted, he did look a little zoned out at his own presentation but it was all done for the Oranje.

There’s a lot riding on Nistelrooy’s quest to join the national team and only first-team football will give him that chance, seeing that Madrid are very content with Higuain and Benzema. He will remain at Hamburg until his contract ends in 2011. And as the Dutch say… veel succes!

Do not fear, Robinho is not pulling a R.Carlos and getting married again. Instead of showing him looking all gloomy on the bench, we decided that a smiling-and-spoilt Robinho would be the better option for your precious eyes.

Anyway, A Douche has declared that he wants to take a pay cut, return to Santos and play regular football again. He’s looking at a Beckham/Milan deal where Oil City continues to pay his wages while he parties at the Catwalk club in Rio. Ah cara, sei lá…! Sao Paulo better be ready for the return of Robinho and his entourage.

Mancini, Rafael Da Silva And Leftovers

Uncle Mancini knows that Robinho’s form at Oil City is already looking like your leftover chicken from last Christmas. Even so, you were incredibly mean not to send him fresh flowers. So now, he’s turning his sights to Ibracadabra and Maicon instead!

Declared ManChin : “I always had a loyal relationship with Ibra. He is a world class player and any coach would like to have him in their team. Also, I would be delighted if I could count on Maicon.”

Well well, It’s pretty obvious that he wants to steal from Mourinho’s pool of favourites.  Don’t you remember how Mou kept on going about how Ibra was the best in the world when he was at Inter last year? C’mon, we all know Ragdoll Crespo secretly cried himself to sleep over that every night!

Also, please don’t hit us with candy canes because we didn’t update about Curly Fries Da Silva’s goal. Obviously, the family gave him a new remote-controlled web cam over the hols and Rafael didn’t end up fighting with Fabio over who’ll be wearing the Futbolita shirt to the family barbecue! Marcar mais golos this year, tipo!

Robinho Loves Sylvinho

Hosted by imgur.com

Sylvinho reminds us of our best friend’s namorado who is also the World’s Biggest Douche and perhaps that is why we can’t stand this photo. Nevertheless, in an amusing interview with the club’s official TV station, Robinho told the defender how much he appreciated him!

“He is my teacher (of English). I don’t speak very good English, but he does! I love (him), ” Robinho told his teammate, proceeding to (air?) kiss him Sylvinho the cheek. He then left the room – singing one of Man City’s fan chants. Sylvinho added : “He is a typical Brazilian, you know, Robinho...” É claro!

Watch it here!

Welcome to Selecao Bootcamp, Uma Tradição Futbolita! Everyone gather yourselves because it’s that time of the year so ya’ll better get excited. Anyway, our manos have landed in Qatar, more specifically, the Four Seasons Hotel where they’re putting up during their stay in Doha. Everyone gathered in the ballroom for a nightcap again, although they had to be considerate because Kaka was around and coach Dopey was just a table away. Of course Elano was on the lookout for vodka, but Robinho made sure he carefully hid it under the table. All this time, Fabulouso pretended not to know….

Also, plenty of awkward and incredibly fofa (cute) photos await you. They all shared stories around the table and cracked jokes. The four “New Kids on the Block”, Fabio Simplício, Carlos Eduardo, Hulk and Michel Bastos were all excited to join their amigos. Felipe Melo is looking fine as usual (despite being bombarded by Italian journos on the plane – true story from his rep who told us this last night!). On the other hand, someone please give Lucas and Josué cotton candy for looking like ballet dancers. The white shirt is too Billy Elliot than Brazilian for Lucas. We’ll ask him if he needs a catalogue soon, para você!

Training starts in a few hours time, so keep close by futbolitas!

Barca … Back To Business!

Oh, Senor Pep! Ha sido un largo tiempo! Now that the internationals are over and done with, Barca’s Babes are getting ready to face the exciting Valencia tomorrow. As expected, the Messiah flew back via private jet which was provided by the club. Everyone else had to walk and among the last to arrive were Piqué, Busquets and Iniesta. Meanwhile, Ibracadabra arrived at the Ciudad Deportivo Joan Gamper with some ‘discomfort in the knees’. Come on, ya’ll all know what he was up to on the dancefloor…!

Meanwhile, Robinho has expressed his interest in the Catalan giants… “Of course I would like to play for Barca, who wouldn’t? We could have so much fun. It would be a pleasure to play next to (Lionel) Messi, to my compatriot (Dani) Alves, Xavi, (Andres) Iniesta, (Zlatan) Ibrahimovic… with all of them. They are a great team,” he said.

“I’ve played against them and I know their quality. But at the moment at the moment I can only do it (play with them) on the PlayStation. It’s an honour that a coach like him (Guardiola) speaks highly of Robinho, and rates me as much as I read he does.”

A little humble pie goes a long way, gato...

Soldados Bootcamp – Day 6

Fotos de R.Ribeiro

E ai tipos??!! It’s the final day of our Selecao bootcamp specials and if you’re already bored, please sit by the window and speak Joel Santana English. Yes, you must… we insist!

Anyway, Miranda celebrated his birthday with his amigos yesterday – his cake wasn’t as zany as Julio Cesar’s – but you can never go wrong with strawberries and chocolate. Filipe looks mesmerized by the cake… although you know Juan looks like he’d much prefer tiramisu. Awww.

In more serious news, Dunga has called up four players to face the Chileans later. They are André Dias (São Paulo), Cleiton Xavier (Palmeiras), Diego Souza (Palmeiras) and Diego Tardelli (Atlético Mineiro). Robinho flew home yesterday afternoon, after suffering a nasty injury and will continue treatment at Man City. We hope Nilmar starts!

Brazilian fans gather outside their hotel in Chile to welcome them! / via globo

Soldados’ Bootcamp – Day 5

So tipos have landed in Chile for their friendly against the national side tomorrow, and immediately checked into Hotel Sofitel Salvador. The substitutes trained at an open area within the hotel while the starting 11 enjoyed some muscle regeneration time with Senor Paixao at the physical therapy pool. Robinho is totally checking out the valet, OK? Lucky for him, he’s been ruled out of the friendly tomorrow which means either Nilmar or Adriano will take his place.

Also, Andre Santos doesn’t look like he can play the Repinique (samba drum) but looks can be deceiving! Everyone is in a great mood after the win on Saturday.

“It was too good! We had a wonderful game, and the team played a very smart in the field with catimba and the whole atmosphere that was created for the game. Congratulations to the team,” said Kaka.

Soldados’ Bootcamp – Day 2

So it’s Day 2 of the Soldados Bootcamp and they’re already bullying Robinho! Anyway, the manos did field work yesterday while Daniel Alves, Luisão, Ramires and Elano were immediately sent to the gym upon arrival. Muito grave, indeed!

For training, Dopey divided the squad into two teams- Julio Cesar, Maicon, Lúcio, Miranda, André Santos; Gilberto Silva, Felipe Melo, Julio Baptista, Kaká; Robinho and Luís Fabiano formed one side while Victor, Cristian, Gérson, Juan and Filipe; Sandro, Lucas, João Pedro and Wellington; Nilmar and Adriano made up the other. Crowds formed outside Granja Comary to watch the selecao in action and the U-17 squad also trained with them in preparation for the Copa Sendai in Japan.

These bombshells will board a flight to Rosario at 8pm later tonight and arrive at the Rosario International Airport around midnight. They’d better distribute packets of oreo and milk or else…..

Carlos Tevez…. as Che Guevara?!!

Right… ¿Qué es eso, futbolitas? It seems that Carlos Tevez has been compared to Marxist revolutionary leader, Sr. Che Guevara himself on the cover of ShortList magazine. Nice colours, but everything else is a big no-no!

You see, they’re both Argentineans but that’s where the similiarities end. One’s a Rosario kid while the other belongs to the city. One was highly equipped in guerrilla warfare while the other, in, denial. Yeah, Robinho can call another one of his self-pitying press conferences but comparing Tevez to Che is pretty bizzare.

I would not play up here if I didn’t believe we could win... If you look at the players who have been hired and are coming, you will see the club’s intentions. We have a great base now and we’ve hired some of the best in Europe. I believe we can be champions in England and Europe,” said Tevez.

All we can say is buena suerte with that “revolution” of yours…

Brasil Defeat Overexcited Estonians

It wasn’t only  Luisao who was in a fighting mood yesterday during Brazil’s 1-0 victory over Estonia (the scoreline spells it out for you). Robinho thought that the Estonians made unfair tackles and expressed his desire to see the referee go back to school. Ei tipooos, it’s just a friendly!

“They made some (really) bad moves The referee should have taken out his cards but he did not. This was just a friendly and they (played) roughly,” declared Pele’s son from Santos. “We are not here to incite violence, but football is like this sometimes.” Yeah Rob, tell us something we don’t already know.

Anyway, players from the Estonian national team were closely “following” the Brazilians all over to the field and they couldn’t breathe. We were expecting better than 1-0, but Fabulouso’s goal was mas importante and at least no one was severely injured.

Bombshells will play Argentina in Rosario on September 5 – so mark your calendars!

Seleção Na Estonia – Dia 2

So these sexy homens appear to be doing very well in Estonia! Ah, the ninos above look so happy – especially that boy who is sticking his chest out for Robinho to autograph his shirt. Awww.

Anyway, as usual, the selecao were being followed by a huge group of fans on their second day in the country. The Estonian kids gathered themselves at the door of the Radisson Hotel and waited patiently for the team bus to exit for afternoon training yesterday. There, most of them received autographs and a young boy begged journalists to teach him how to say “squeeze my hand” in Portuguese (“aperta a minha mão”). It worked against Gomes but not Kaka, so the fervent boy kissed the player’s hand instead – catching him by surprise. Good move!

At the stadium, the boys from Flora Tallinn academy were fortunate to watch the training and meet the players after the session was over. On a sidenote, Luis Filipe needs a haircut agorraaaaa and Felipe Meloooo is living up to his reputation as the Cara Do Momento!

Seleção Chegar Em… Estonia!

Summer tales...... / Foto de R.Ribeiro

The Brazilian bombshells have arrived in Tallin for their friendly against Estonia tomorrow. OK, Gomes doesn’t know anything about the Estonian national team but still, it’s always nice to see the seleção. It cures our homesickness!

Anyway, homies are staying at the Radisson Hotel and except for Inter’s trio of Maicon, Julio Cesar and Lucio who arrive today, a crowd of screaming boys and girls waited to welcome the squad. Doesn’t Felipe Meloooo look like a high school stud trying to round up his gang of friends? Luisao is not amused!

Caras also gathered to have dinner together last night. And ya’ll know that Kaka told the best story at the table followed by Dani Alves‘ fishmonger tale (“Na verdade, eu não comer peixe!!” he cried). Nilmar looked excited to share his story about the crying children at his official presentation (“Eu queria chorar também..”) Well, they didn’t exactly say any of those things but imagination is key, amigas!

According to our friends, the view of the city from the Radisson hotel is “beautiful” and the sunset happens at exactly 9:30pm every night. Awww, how romantic. Robinho and co’ can certainly toast to that! Training will take place in the afternoon later today. Enjoy the photos…

We Love Amaury Dumbo!

Here is Amaury Dumbo from our favorite Brazilian TV Show, Pânico na TV, at Robinho’s wedding earlier this week. Words cannot explain the absolute hilarity of the situation… and the crazy characters who crashed the wedding. Brilliant stuff. We demand that you enjoy it agora!

Robinho Gets Married Too

Via Ag news

Via Ag news

Not one to miss out on all the action, Robinho married his fiance of 1,129 years, Vivian in Sao Paulo on Thursday. The wedding decor was by Vic Meirelles, who also conceptualized Ronaldo’s wedding to Daniela Cicarelli in Paris four years ago. It ended in divorce. Must’ve been Meirelles pale purple flowers.

Anyway, ya’ll know The Dinho snubbed Pato because he wants to be Milan’s Main Man next season but to his amigo mayor, Robinho? That sucks! At least Dunga made the effort! “The (Brazilian) selection is like family, and Robinho is part of it. Of course I had to come,” he declared. Baptista was also there with his wife – a clone of my best friend, Rebekah. “Robinho is like a friend and a brother to me. My presence doesn’t need to be questioned.”

Luca’s Birthday Celebration

0,,21277017-EX,00

Today is Brazilian Footballers And Their Sons Day, in case you were wondering. Last Friday, Kaká celebrated Luca’s 1-year birthday at a “chic house” in Itaim, the south of São Paulo. The party was three weeks late because he was in South Africa for the Confederations Cup and could only form a letter “L” to commemorate the occasion.

Besides his wife Caroline, Kaká received more than 100 guests and among were the other cool caras like Elano, Robinho, Felipe Massa and Ronaldo. How much was the guy above paid to wear that atrocious grey crocodile plushie on his head? They were probably relatives but still… there’s a limit!

Robinho Takes His Son To Watch Santos

Photos via LatinContent Editorial

Awwwww, here’s a photo of Robinho and his son, Robson Junior at Santos vs Sport on Saturday. Thankfully, his former team won 1-0 thanks to a goal by Paulo Henrique Lima. Robson is muito adorável and his dad is probably saying “You know what son? Someday you could be playing there on that field too, just like me!” Of course all Robson is thinking in that photo above is “Are you kidding me? Pele is giving us evils on the left pai, don’t look yet!”
