The Night Of Eto’o!!

Poooor fin! After four years (even the villain himself, Botox Berlusconi considers this a long wait), Inter have made it to the semi finals of the Champions League. And it’s all thanks to Eto’o of course… and maybe Senhor Mourinho’s black coat!

Anyway, a disgruntled Chelski fan just walked in here hurling expletives at Eto’o… but do not worry, amigas! We’ve sent him out the door with The Diving Drogba song.

At least Mourinho prefers to remain modest, which is the way it should be! “I’m so happy because of the way my team played. It was difficult for me to come here as an enemy where my ‘home’ is, here at Chelsea. Yesterday someone asked me if I would still be special if I lost here. Today I’m not so special for Chelsea supporters who will probably never forgive me.”

Eto’o, The Notebook and… Mancini

It’s freezing down in Milan (and perhaps in Fiorentina too – where the Rossoneri’s game had to be postponed due to snow.) But of course, a man named Samuel Eto’o scored the only goal for Inter in last night’s game against Lazio. Still, do these guys think they’re in The Notebook or something?

Anyway, of course everybody is talking about Mancini to Man City now (not the useless Brazilian one – it’s Roberto, one of the ‘Uncle Dude’ breeds and Mourinho’s predecessor) And of course, rumours are flying around saying that Inter’s starlet, Balotelli will be following him to the Oil City. However, he’d best look elsewhere because Inter chief Moratti is texting him messages that read “andare a mangiare una rana, Rob” or “go eat a frog”. Ok, not really but Moratti has issued a strict “hands-off Balotelli” warning. This is like Ancelotti-Pato-Chelsea all over again!

In other news, we really need to come up with an award for Best Goal In The Snow or El gol mejor en la nieve!

Piqué The Pout!

Oh, the passion on Pique the Pout’s face speaks volumes, following his goal against Inter last night!! Este tipo puts in a lot of effort when he plays, so you could say that he deserves it and now he can safely resume his role as a Twilight vampire (cue the trees!)

“It was a very important game for us and we’ll think about it later. We had a very good start, we went ahead and we kept their attack at a distance. Now I think only of playing in the game against Real,” he declared.

Unfortunately for Inter, they forgot to come to work last night. Senor Jose is apparently in the mood for Christmas and didn’t bother issuing instructions of any kind, preferring to let the wine things flow. Meanwhile, plenty of hugs were exchanged between Eto’o and the gang (sweet!) and Pique even gave him his jersey after the game. You know you loved it!

I give my heartfelt thanks to all. It was a little strange to be in the other locker room, but this is football. I hope that Barcelona remains (like this) and we can win (our next game) so that we will qualify,” said Eto’o.

Eto’o and The Dona Para Voce…

Here’s Samuel Eto’o looking all prim and proper in a tux… must be Jose’s influence. He is, after all, starting to shape Inter’s squad this season. Even Esteban Cambiasso thinks so!

“I have always said that the strikers’ goals are the logic of a team. Diego and Samuel are playing with continuity and they are scoring. It’s true, Ibrahimovic scored most of our goals last season but that was also a consequence of continuity. Zlatan played more than anyone and the others were rotated alongside him. The strikers’ goals are logic. If they score it means the team is working well, he said.” Are you listening, Luca Toni?

Maradona has returned from his luxurious holiday in Buenos Aires. And ya’ll better be nice to El Diez or he’ll send Veronica dolls to you. This time, he has declared that the team to face Ghana in a friendly this weekend will have a great chance of starting against Peru and Uruguay in their WC Qualifers. “Nobody will tell me which players not to choose, I listen to everyone but the one who has the final say is me. Those who will be here, will be here, I won’t give anymore details,” affirmed Maradona. By the way, he left out all the European players this time around.

Barca Thrash Racing!

Los Cules strolled to a comfortable 4-1 win over Racing last night thanks to a double from the Messiah and two additional goals from Pique and Ibracadabra. What else did you expect? For Puyolita to bag a hat-trick of own goals? That won’t be happening anytime soon! These folks are on a roll… and Pep Guardiola didn’t even need a mud bath.

“I am satisfied with the first and second half. We were serious throughout. We didn’t want to go crazy making unnecessary efforts, we passed the ball well and that made us stronger. We controlled the game,” Pep said after the game.

In other news, Samuel Eto’o is demanding around €3m (£2.7m) from Senor Laporta as part of the Barca to Inter deal. If he needs help, Potter Perez is just a phone call away…. or not.

Roma’s Victory, Eto’o’s Goal

via Gettyimages

As our dear Roma-crazy amiga said : I wouldn’t say I’m happy with the team, but it’s good to finally have 3 points! Being le caca is not cool, at all.”

Indeed, Roma’s new coach Mrs Doubtfire Ranieri deserves applause – for today, at least – as he steered the squad to their first win after a long spell of dismal performances. An 89th minute free kick from substitute John Arne Riise was enough to earn them a 2-1 victory over Siena, who were down with ten men. Not the best of starts, but at least it’s something…

Elsewhere, president president Massimo Moratti must be thanking his lucky stars that Inter’s two new signings – Eto’o and Diego Milito both got on the scoresheet to help Inter to a 2-0 win over Parma. Watch Samuel Eto’o’s stunning curling shot below…he probably doesn’t mind the fine that comes with removing his shirt!

Casillas : Eto’o was a nightmare

Wedgiellas (who picks and chooses the questions he’d like to answer) has declared that Samuel Eto’o is officially the stuff of nightmares for goalkeepers like himself.

“Frankly, I am glad that Eto’o has gone to Inter Milan (because) he was a nightmare for goalkeepers in Spain,” said Madrid’s #1 goalie.

And yet another indication of Greaseano’s new clique of bitches (note that they’re just an extension of Raul’s idolising group), Wedgie has declared that he approves of the Portuguese. “He is very professional – just look at his physical form. He’s been training very well since his first day with us.”

On a sidenote, we think that Iker’s performances have hinged on dismal as of late and La Furia Roja need to call up Victor Valdes ahora!!!

Eto’o Is Inter’s #9

These transfers are becoming complicated!!! All of a sudden, Eto’o is a Nerazzurra and rather ironically, has assumed Ibrahimovic’s number in the team. Talk about a Solid Swap deal!

“I want to write history with Inter,” he said. “I won almost everything with Barça, I hope to do so also here. It would be great to win the Ballon d’Or but first I’m thinking about the team’s interest and not my personal ones,” Eto’o continued. “Ibra is a great player but I am Samuel Eto’o and my past and my victories talk for me. I don’t like parallels being drawn. I wish Zlatan all the best.”

What’s with the Inter hombres and their need to show off the fact that they’re all “for the team”? Looks like Senor Jose is certainly drilling Teamwork 101 into their heads.

Meanwhile In Milan….

Finally, the Milanistas are doing something! At Milan’s first training session yesterday, fans gathered outside Milanello to protest the Kaka sale and lack of reinforcements from Uncle Fester’s office. Leonardo got a bit confused by the commotion and gave them all a thumbs up. Anyway, Fester Galliani has spoken about interest in Eto’o although his agent has confirmed that he’ll probably be staying at Barca.

“[Samuel] Eto’o? We cannot deny our interest,” he said, adding, “Eto’o is an important player who wants to be paid a lot of money. We need to balance the books, because we are a company.”

By the way, what is The Dinho doing in Milan? Aren’t the Brazilian players supposed to jet off to Rio for Pato’s casamento?!

Barca on a Roll

SOCCER-SPAIN/

So Barcelona crushed Sevilla 4-0 last night with goals from Iniesta, Eto’o, Xavi and Titipo Henry. They’re now six points clear of Real Madrid at the top of the table.

Messi and Pinto could be seen chatting at the sidelines as they were both left on the bench. Ah, let’s go on a holiday now shall we? At the rate Barca are going, other teams in Spain should book advance flights to Ibiza. Now!

“We are going for everything this season,” said Iniesta. “We played well tonight, scored good goals and got the points. We have difficult games against Valencia and Chelsea coming up so we can’t relax and have to keep on going.”

“The way Barca are playing you have to be almost perfect to beat them,” said Sevilla coach Manolo Jimenez. “They are beating top teams by three or four goals and were far superior to us tonight.”

Hola Semifinales!

What a show by Barcelona last night! In contrast to Real’s thrash fest yesterday, that is. Even El Mundo Deportivo rewrote Marca’s “Chorreo” headline to show that they mean serious business.

Doubles from Henry, Keita as well as goals from Messi and Eto’o gave them a 5-2 win over Lyon.

Check out Titipo and Eto’o’s goal celebration in the pictures below. They’re saluting the crowd with pride! In contrast, poor Juninho looks dejected.

Barca, Bilbao and Etiene

Par2447321

That’s Samuel Eto’o and his son Etiene after last night’s Barca-Bilbao encounter. Sweet! How many kids can tell their friends that their father plays for Barcelona? You know that Etiene’s the coolest kid in school and different boys sit with him at lunchtime everyday. “Ettie, think we could get match tickets in exchange for Kinder Joy eggs?” For the record, Kinder Joy is marvelous and their toys are so much fun!

Onto the football, Lionel Messi scored his 18th goal in the La Liga this season last night. Bilbao rarely looked threatening as Barcelona put two goals past them.

“We just have to worry what we are doing and not talk about Real Madrid, only Barcelona,” said Eto’o. “Are we back to our best? Well we won and kept a clean sheet which is great but to be honest we were playing well before. However, we were conceding goals and drawing or losing the games.”

A Barca Victory

017687786-ex00
Goals from Dani Alves and Samuel Eto’o were enough to secure Barca a 3-1 win over Sporting Gijon last night. This was their tenth successive La Liga win.

Eto’o scored his opener in the 23rd minute when he tapped home Thierry Henry’s cross. The league’s top scorer wasted no further chances and  five minutes before half-time, Eto’o made it 2-0 with a fierce drive. And in the 66th minute, Iniesta set up Daniel Alves to score the third goal with a powerful near-post shot.

Of course, Gijon’s coach, Preciado, couldn’t help but marvel at the way his side was trumped.

He said : “We came here with the idea to scare Barcelona a little, but they were the ones who scared us. When you’re on the field against them, you quickly realise that they are the best team in the world. They are a very powerful side and it would be crazy for anyone to think that they will not win the league this season.”

barca thrash depor

016686962-ex00

There was a time when Deportivo la Coruna were one of the top teams in Europe with an excellent hitman named Diego Tristan. But those days seem to be over as the mighty Barca thrashed them 5-0 yesterday, moving them 15 points clear at the top of the La Liga table.

The usual suspects scored again with Thierry Henry and Samuel Eto’o netting two goals each. Messi also slotted in his 12th goal of the season.
