If there’s one thing Irina Shayk doesn’t lack, it’s a sense of humour.
“When I get up, I look fat,” the Russian model, who is dating Cristiano Ronaldo, told a group of reporters at a fashion launch for Desigual yesterday. The quirky fashion line, which originated from Barcelona, is well-known for fun, kaleidoscopic designs, as frequently reflected in their outfits.
“The FIFA gala was exciting and Cristiano should have been given the Golden Ball before that,” said Irina , who later laughed and waved her hand when a reporter told her to say ‘Visca Barcelona’. “No, no, not that!” replied the Russian model.
Ronaldo, who met Shayk through a mutual friend in January 2011, has been with the Russian model for more than three years and often flies her out to various events and appearances across the world.
Later, she added : “Partying is not my thing, I’m Russian but I do not drink. The most important thing for me is my job, family and relationship.”
When asked about Spain, Shayk, 28, said : “I love it, because people are very open and friendly. Spanish women are very fashionable.”
A variety of memes directed at Man United starlet, Adnan Januzaj, and his decision to take a student named Melissa Mackenzie out for an £18 date at Nando’s, has taken the net by storm.
The story, which first appeared in The Sun, has caused a huge uproar online, with fans both applauding and poking fun at the player’s choice of venue for a date. Nandos’ is really the obvious choice if you’re a clueless 18-year-old getting used to the city, and the chips are quite divine, so what’s the big deal here (apart from the fact that Adnan is a millionaire footballer?)
“I’ve never met anyone so stingy in my life. I was so excited for the first date. We met on a social network site and I got all dressed up and even got my make-up done – costing me £30,” said Mackenzie, who also wore a dress and heels to Nandos, which in girl-speak, is like wearing a tuxedo to yoga class. Technically, there’s nothing wrong with it (it’s called effort), but the poor girl had Beckham-like expectations, okay?! Plus, Peri Peri sauce has been known to stain fancy dresses!
“I expected him to come to me in a flashy car, but I ended up driving him about in my old blue Fiesta and I was left to pay and display. Then he said he was taking me to Nando’s – my face fell. I usually go there for a quick bite to eat with my mates. I didn’t expect to be going there on a date with a Man United footballer, especially in my dress and heels,” she said.
Meanwhile, Tottenham star Andros Towsend was one of the players who tweeted his support for the youngster. “Nandos was too classy for her! I would of bought her a freddo and sent her packing!!” he wrote on Twitter. Crystal Palace’s Jason Puncheon posted a photo on Instagram with the words “Januzaj keeping it real…got time for this guy…what makes these people think he has to spend big cos he’s got it!!”
From a wannabe WAG to an actual one, we now move on to Coleen Rooney, who has been lambasted by her Twitter followers for accepting freebies and doing publicity or ‘parading’ them online excessively.
“Thank you @melissaodabash for my gorgeous bikinis!! I absolutely love them!! x,” she gushed online, which is just Coleen being Coleen, if you know what we mean. Which WAG would say no to free designer bikinis?
“Millionaire husband and still accepting freebies, do you not feel bad when there’s people who can’t pay their gas bill?,” wrote an angry fan in retaliation.
Others criticised Coleen’s ‘endless’ product placement with one user saying she was ‘sickened’ by Coleen’s actions. Another called the England WAG ‘fat and dumpy’, after being photographed in a similar luxury two-piece swimsuit, also by Melissa Odabash.
The Man United striker’s wife, who has been the subject of venomous abuse on Twitter on previous occasions, retaliated at one user : ‘Go and try and blag yourself a bikini you sad cow!!’
Ouch, where is the peace and love?!
The son of legendary Brazilian player, Bebeto, has denied an alleged affair with the Neymar’s girlfriend, Bruna Marquezine, seen above sharing a moment with her beau.
The allegations were published by Brazilian newspaper ‘Extra’, who claimed the actress spent New Year’s with the Mattheus Oliveira, the Flamengo player, in Rio. However, Oliveira posted up a photo with his sister and family from New Year’s eve, which dispelled the dirty rumours.
In an official statement, Bebeto’s son said :
“Respect my private life , I’m a football player and my concern is to play. But (people) cannot help but invent lies, even if they involve the girlfriend of a friend. I have known Neymar since he was 15 and we often talk – I would never do any of those things suggested. I met Bruna Marquezine some time ago because we have a mutual friend, but we are not part of the same circle of friends or have any kind of relationship.” – Mattheus Oliveira,
