POTD: Diego Costa Finally Explains Why He Picked Spain Over Brazil

Spain’s Diego Costa is set to make his debut for his “naturalised” country (as they say in Portuguese… uff, Brazil!) against Italy tomorrow.

“It was a complicated decision at the time. But it was a choice that I gave a lot of thought to and I tried to do the right thing,” he explained, regarding his decision to pick Spain over Brazil at the World Cup. “Spain showed an interest and I felt wanted. If they thought that I could be important to them, considering the team they have, then it’s a privilege.”

Meanwhile, the team Costa should have picked – Brazil – are now busy at their training camp in one of the best countries in the world, South Africa.

Interestingly, this international week is a last chance for many players to prove their worth and scream “PICK ME!” to the coaches ahead of the World Cup in Brazil in June and July.
