Cristiano Ronaldo and his Russian supermodel girlfriend, Irina Shayk, have graced the latest cover of fashion magazine Vogue in a sizzling spread.
Shot by renowned photographer Mario Testino, the couple are featuring in their first project together as part of the magazine’s World Cup issue.
The photo shoot’s theme of ‘Amor & Fútbol’, meaning ‘Love and Football’, depicted the pair posing in many different ways.
One intriguing shot features the Real Madrid star star who will represent Portugal at the World Cup in Brazil next month, sitting on what appears to be a hotel bed wearing a suit and tie.
A whiteboard shows positional tactics and his latest Nike commercial on a TV screen as the Ballon d’Or winner juggles a ball. Meanwhile, Shayk stands looking into the distance holding a remote control.
Ronaldo’s underwear brand CR7 Underwear was established last year, and he has been active in promoting the line to fans across his social network sites.
As a fashion model, Shayk is no stranger to posing on magazine covers and she first shot to fame with her 2011 Sports Illustrated magazine cover.
In a previous interview, Shayk, 27, who started dating the Portuguese star in 2010, admitted that it was more difficult for the world football star to deal with her than the other way round.
“Sometimes I can be a very challenging person and Cristiano has to show a true display of patience to deal with my character. So I also do my best to offer my support when he needs it,” she said last November.
“I am enjoying my relationship. (Cristiano) is the perfect supporter, he’s always by my side and he knows how to make me happy. I understand him perfectly well, and he understands me too, (especially) my job which is something very important to me. I love my profession and traveling, so I need my partner to understand what I’m doing and give me the strength and support to do it.”
Before kicking off their World Cup campaign on June 14 against Italy, the England squad were given an inspiring send-off at their own charity ball last Sunday.
The Lions and Roses dinner, which was held at the Grove Hotel in Hertfordshire, marked the starting point for the nation’s World Cup preparations.
Danny Welbeck, Joe Hart and Fraser Forster, who made Roy Hodgson’s England selection all attended the charity event to unwind before a rigorous training camp.
Daniel Sturridge was also pictured enjoying the dinner and a concert by British band Kaiser Chiefs, alongside Raheem Sterling, Henderson and Flanagan.
England’s training camp, which is currently taking place at a prestigious resort called
Vale do Lobo in Portugal, will be the first phase of training for the Three Lions.
The 23-man team faces Peru at Wembley on Friday, May 30 for their first warm-up game, before facing Ecuador in Miami on June 4.
On Monday, Liverpool striker Sturridge also posted a photo with Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on the plane heading to Portugal.
“Chilling on the plane with Jack and Alex and looking forward to the training camp,” he said.
England star, Wayne Rooney also took fitness coaches with him on holiday to the Algarve in Portugal in a bid to get fit for the World Cup.
