Provisional World Cup Squad Lists : France, England, Germany, Brazil, Portugal

We’re a month away from the World Cup, and most of the participating nations have named their provisional squad lists. Yay!

If you’ve seen Benzema’s Netflix documentary “Le K Benzema” (pretty insightful and worth the watch), you’ll find once again that the Real Madrid striker has not made Didier Deschamp’s “standby” list. No surprise here! according to French analysts. Indeed, “the real surprise is Adrien Rabiot (PSG).

Brazil and Portugal have gone one step further and simply named their final squad list, instead of taking the traditional approach of “cutting down” players after analyzing their performance at the training camp (psychologically, this works better). Meanwhile, England manager Gareth Southgate has has given his players permission to go on holiday this week with “no rules attached”, and Spain are set to announce their squad on Monday.
